A teacher...

...touches a child's heart forever! Jayda's teacher is a sweet young lady in her second year of teaching! This picture was awesome, such genuine smiles full of beginning of the year ambition!
I truly enjoyed creating this and it came together quickly! The inspiration was from the black card stock with the Pink Paislee PP on top...LOVE IT! Then, everything else fell into place! I used some goodies I found in my MIL closet! Her...JUNK...who knew junk could be so grand???
There is a new technique here...new for me! I cut PP that matched the matte of this photo into thin strips the size of Dymo tape! I then sanded it as the paper has a white core...and voila matching dymo tape for every layout! YAY!!!

Product:
Cardstock: Black generic
Matte: BG Sultry
PP: Office Lingo of Pink Paislee
Gem Flourish: Prima-Say it in crystals
Embellies: Old onion sack and lace from my MILs closet, flora doodle flower, random button from RAK,
Journaling: Dymo label maker on BG sultry PP and sanded to show white core, MM mini alphas, thickers

Repurposed Record Bracelet

Inspiration comes fast and furious over at Shop Crop Suey! (Click on the link to see the tutorial on their blog.) The latest was a fantastic quick project on how to use the old record albums and create bracelets.
After I completed this original project using a record cover,

I wondered what I would do with all those left over records...even thinking about creating an album using them(which I still will do)...but in the meantime...what a fun project!
I found that it was way to big for my wrist...then I thought of hooking it together with a traditional bracelelet clasp. But...where to find one of those around here??? Then I remembered something I picked up at my mom's(my MIL's) house in Ocala. She let me go through all her old "junk" as she liked to call it. I referred to it as the best prizes EVER! I found some old snaps she had. I attached snaps to the back of this bracelet to make it more form fitting!!! Gotta love the crop a dile and snaps! I will be using snaps on mini albums soon...KEEP a weathered eye out for that! So to you, Bree and Camille at Shop Crop Suey(Who by the way is having their grand opening tomorrow) I thank you for a fun quick project!!!

My first attempt at an acryllic album. It is archaic and just a start for me. I love the look and the ease of completeing the album! I was crossing my fingers that my Bind It All would work...and sure enough it did.

My Songs Mini Album

I was inspired by my playlist and a mini album I saw a while back. As I listen to the songs in my playlist, I am taken back to some momentous occasions over the span of the last 7 years. I love them all for different reasons! I picked out the lines from the songs that mean the most to me.
I used the Basic Grey "periphery" line. I used random flowers, buttons, ribbon, bling, tickets, and sakura glaze pens for dots and flourishes.
Letters are American Crafts rub ons, thickers, MM mini alphas, dymo label maker, BG Periphery.
I used CDs to create this album. This took me over 10 hours to complete. What!!!???!!!
Sorry pics aren't so great, I had to photo at night.

Be Mine....always!

This layout is based on the papers I chose to work with. I have a bunch of Teresa Collins paper that was sent to me as a RAK from Stacey at All Moments Remembered in one of my recent orders. {On a sidenote, if you haven't placed an order with All Moments Remembered yet, you really MUST! She always throws in some extra goodies and you can't believe your good fortune when the package arrives! Shipping is fast and customer service is BAR NONE!)
After I had papers in hand, I searched out some black and white photos to use with this layout. I am up to February of Jay's stack of pictures. This phot was perfect! I used puff dots to raise up the pic and "feature" it!
I searched out my stash for black rub on flourishes...no such luck! So, I just drew them with my glaze pen! I love those pens!!! This was from a valentine's day photo shoot! His feet are sweeter than a box of chocolates!!!!

Alligator Postcard circa 1910

This layout was so easy to put together. The papers reminded me of my inlaws, whom I fondly call mom and dad!
I totally loved this postcard I got at a Thrift store the other day before the hurricane hit. The alligators go well with the "Florida-y" feel of the paper! It is from 1910. I almost couln't bear to use it, but it fit so perfect on this page!
I love my inlaws, and the words mom and dad really grasp the feeling I have towards the two of them!

Arrgh..it's a pirate's life for me!

Seeing as how a hurricane is brewing out on the high seas...I thought it only fitting for me to gather up my jewels, place them in my treasure chest and hide them away!
This is a cigar box I got at a garage sale/yard sale on Saturday! I looked and looked at it, and hesitated to buy it. I figured I would put something in it, who knew what?!?
Well, the more I looked at it, the more I thought it was a treasure box! So I altered it. It was a dominican cigar box.
It doesn't close well, as the wood has "moved" a bit. But, nonetheless, I love it! This box provided me with hours of enjoyment in the creation process!!!

I used Cap'n Jack by Rusty Pickle, "Davey Jones" and "Boots n' Bones". I also used some We R memory Keepers gromlets. The top consists of My pirate "gems", kaiser clear bling, a ceasars palace gold coin chocolate wrapper, my grandmother's broach, my grandfather's tie clip, jingle fiber, rusty key from flea market, the gold sequins, gold beads and black beads come from a very fancy dress I had hanging in my closet for YEARS{I have a picture of myself and my grandfather in this dress and I will find it somewhere and post it one day soon!}, the "diamonds" are beads from the pirate watch I took apart{The watch was broken}! The paper inside the box is K&Co. I crumpled that paper, inked it, made a "map", used a buffer to distress it, and I burned the lower left hand corner with fire.
