Pumpkin Patch Acryllic Album!

I tell you, these are so much fun to create...but they force you to really really think! It is important that you do not cover up all the acryllic as to allow the peek a boo effect. I am still working on this and have no where come near to accomplishing it. I do however, enjoy creating them! I used silk fall leaves, onion bags, mm paint, dymo label maker, and bo bunny back to basics back to back patterned paper for the fall colors they encompass.
I took 96 photos of the pumpkin patch and felt it important that I do more than just a one page layout commemorating the day!
Unbeknownst to me, the pumpkin patch cost one dollar for the preschool activities they had with a tiny pumpkin at the end. So about a week later, my mother and I happened to be passing the pumpkin patch and I stopped to pay the 1$ I owed. I felt terrible I did not pay(as I stumbled upon the activities and was invited to join). It was a relief to pass by and "pay up"!

No Monkey Business!

Jayda's third grade teacher was incredible! She had "top banana" every week! Jayda was chosen the second week. It is based on behavior and a coveted project! She brought home the banana and spent the weekend with him! She had to journal all about their weekend together! She also got to take a box full of show and tells to share for the week. On Friday, we celebrated her week with doughnuts for the whole class. each child brought a different snack each week. It makes the student feel incredible, not only because of the attention they receive all week. But, each child wrote something nice to Jayda on a banana and these were dis[played all week in the classroom on her bulletin board. As a teacher myself, I was most impressed!!!

A Vision of Beauty

My grandmother was photographed by my grandfather alot. He was a photographer and an accomplished one at that. He took the photos and even developed the photos in his own darkroom.
This layout was done using Camille's premier kit at Shop Crop Suey! I love these patterned papers by Basic Grey. The flower embellishments are Riff Raff. The lettering is the only thing that was not in the kit(Thickers and MM mini alphas).
This photo was taken in Reynoldsville, PA in 1938.

Scrapping Across the Universe-"Hold Me Tight"

The new challenge is up over at Scrapping Across the Universe!!! Go check it out!
But not before you check out all the layouts completed for the first challenge!!!

This is the second challenge!
"The song "Hold Me Tight" is being played as the film moves between a 1960's American High School Prom
and a European underground club. Can you find inspiration form your High School Graduation,
or how about using a vintage high school theme on a page, even better... do you still have those Prom photos?
If this isn't you, what about your visits to a club, or dance?
Or maybe it's the lyrics to the song....."
Here is my take on the challenge:
The theme of my Prom was from the song "Still Loving You" by the Scorpions. I loved this dress that my mother had made using the bridesmaid dress from my oldest brothers wedding! Unfortunately, the seamstress cut it way to low in the front! I was worried about cleavage all night. Boy, if I knew then what I know now. Hahahahaha! I borrowed the gorgeous drop necklace from an elderly neighbor lady who wanted me to wear it with this dress.
I had a great night at the dance and I think we went to the theme park outside of pittsburgh or cedar point the day after....I can't remember! I am geting old!
