1960's ATCs

Well, this is the latest ATC group I have joined! Looking forward to receiving these!!! Fun to do and fun to say it is before my time! But alas, not much before!

I added a little tutorial here. This is what you will need:

I made a peace sign stamp using an exacto knife, champagne cork, and stazon.
Draw the symbol with a sharpie, and then cut out using an exacto knife.
Use stazon(or whatever you choose) to create your stamped image!

Sophomore Year!

This picture cracked me up! I found this vintage card that had a wooly lamb on it...I thought it would be perfect. Not because it is adorable, but because our hair looks VERY similar!!! Hahaha I have been enjoying scrapping my high school photos! Tomorrow, I will work on my Freshman picture.
You will notice in the first picture I did not spell sophomore correctly...second photo has that fixed!

I used more of the Crop Suey Kit O'er the Rainbow PP. Vintage buttons, mini cards, page from an old dick and jane reader, Prima say it with crystals, onion bag, thickers, mini alpha MM.

Junior Year

This was a fun layout. I couldn't even begin to remember anything from this year...other than a sweet friend of mine who turned around in English class and asked me on the first day of school, "What happened to you over the summer....did you get hit with the beautiful stick or what?" I never forgot that...his name was Duke Moulthrop. We were just very good friends. Who wouldn't want a friend like that? hahaha

I used Basic Grey Sultry, Hambly overlay, cut out BG Sultry flowers from PP, sass turtle with hot pink stickles, random buttons, fibers, brads, butterflies from Camilles Crop Suey Kit, thread, mm mini alphas, thickers vintage playing card, random ribbon, aqua stickles, cotton candy stickles

Senior Year

This layout was so much fun to create! I am still working with Bree's "O'er the Rainbow" kit! There are so many pp and embellies in this! The thickers, buttons, ribbon, felt beaver(which someone made for me in high school over 20 years ago!) are all mine. The rest of everything is from the kit! I am telling you Shop Crop Suey kits are loaded!
With my 20 year high school reunion looming in the summer of 09, I am forced to reminisce of the "good ol' days!" Gosh, as i look back, if I knew then what I know now!!! I am looking forward to the big reunion next summer!

It's all fun and games until....

Totally loving Bree's "O'er the Rainbow" Premier Kit at Shop Crop Suey!!
I have created a total of 3 layouts, a mini album, an altered 3 tier photo frame and I still have tons of product left! It is such a great value for the price! The latest kits are even cuter than the premier!!!
In this layout, I highlighted some sweet photos of baby Jay as he belly laughed for the first time...and then it happened...like clockwork...and I just so happened to catch it on film! You couldn't photoshop it better than this!!! I pop dotted the main photo to make it appear 3D and draw the focus out to the main photo!

Letering was not part of the kit, nor the onion bag under the photo.

WOWZERS!!

You will see that I used two different Glitz PP. I loved these papers and this photo and papers just coincidentally were made for one another!!! I used Glossy accents on each of the small colored dots and on the circles I had cut from another Glitz PP. I pop dotted and made the small circles 3D. Fun easy page to complete that needs absolutely no other words than the one featured in the Title. As always click on photo to get good detail.

I loved this shot of my baby at 4 months old! How about those eyes? I have more shots of him with eyes wide open like that than I can even count! Thanks fo looking and as always your comments mean so much to me!

He has been walking since he was 9 1/2 months and cruising around with ease! But the shoes, it was like a dog with shoes on when they walk and shake each paw...so funny!

Here is my take on the challenge!
The theme of my Prom was from the song "Still Loving You" by the Scorpions. I loved this dress that my mother had made using the bridesmaid dress from my oldest brothers wedding! Unfortunately, the seamstress cut it way to low in the front! I was worried about cleavage all night. Boy, if I knew then what I know now. Hahahahaha! I borrowed the gorgeous drop necklace from an elderly neighbor lady who wanted me to wear it with this dress.
I had a great night at the dance and I think we went to the theme park outside of pittsburgh or cedar point the day after....I can't remember! I am geting old!

Is there anybody going to listen to my story?

The first challenge is up at Scrap Across the Universe!!!

Based on the first scene with Jude sitting on the beach. It is a very soft scene with subtle tones. Then he sings the first line of the song Girl by John Lennon:"Is there anybody going to listen to my story?"
Do you have a story you want to share? Can you use the title of the song for a Page title? Do you have that cool crisp gray beach photo you've been dying to scrap? What about the Movie's title "Across the Universe"? Does it inspire a project?

I loved this first scene so much. It set the tone for the movie.

I used a close up photo of myself and titled the layout "girl". The photo is peeling out of the paper. Then I used the first line of the song under my picture. The hidden journaling tells my story...delving into how I saw myself as a child on through adulthood. It is simple simple simple as I found this first scene clean and simple...yet full of information. As always, click on the picture to see the detail up close.

Journaling Reads:
“Was she told when she was young that pain would lead to pleasure”-John Lennon Growing up, I was loved. I had a fabulous family and knew I was a lucky girl. Funny how no matter how good you have it, you still think you are not “good” enough. I
suppose they call that a low self esteem. I was shy around people. I thought I wasn’t thin
enough. I thought I didn’t have the best clothes like every one else. I thought I wasn’t
pretty enough. I wished for things I didn’t “think” I had. These feelings peaked during
those middle school years and were thoughts in the back of my mind for many years after. I was successful in school and definitely in athletics. I was named most athletic in my senior class. I went on to college on a volleyball scholarship to play on a nationally ranked volleyball team that traveled all over the USA. I was getting very good grades in school, had friends, and a sweet boyfriend. Yet, always in the back of my mind were those ugly nagging feelings that never left me alone to be happy. I felt the need to always be on the go, perhaps trying to run away from those feelings. After graduating college, I moved nearly 2000 miles away from home to begin teaching in Florida. I loved Florida. However, those feelings packed themselves in my car and were right there along for the ride! Soon after arriving in Florida, I met my first husband and settled with him because I didn’t think I deserved anyone better. BOY, WAS I WRONG! I turned 30 and my complete self image took a 180* turn. I could talk to anyone. I had a new sense of self. I suddenly woke up and looked in the mirror and saw a gorgeous girl looking back at me. I loved me. I enjoyed waking up everyday. But, there was this not so good thing in my life holding me back trying to tell me all those things I had told myself for so many years. I realized that life can be so much better. I had to make the hardest decision in my life to hurt my two children in order to save those two children from going down a path of their own sadness they knew not at that time. I asked my husband for a divorce and became sole custodial parent to two of the best children I have ever come across. For this, I am so blessed. At this time, I was in a place I had never known in my life. I was happy, content, and free. This is not to say being a single parent was easy. There were trials and struggles I wish on no one during those 6 years. In 2005, I was at a place in my life that was conducive to having someone special in my life. I wasn’t looking for someone to complete me, I was looking for someone to come along beside me and be my best friend. I found that in Michael and thank God everyday for such a wonderful man and husband. We have become parents together of a precious little boy. My three children are each one special to me in ways I could never truly express with words. As a family we work, live, grow, and love with the same healthy respect I was blessed with as a child. Today, I parent so as to let each child know how much I value them and what they have to offer as productive citizens. Today, I enjoy life, my family, and all that awaits in the future!

Sometimes you get to blow a horn!

I was so excited when Bree chose me to be part of her design team for a challenge blog she has created, Scrapping Across the Universe. It parallels the movie, Across the Universe.

The movie is a delight for the eye and has a wonderful love story. The Beatles songs are used throughout the movie and are part of the story. It touches on the Vietnam War, anti war politicos, and friendships that grew out of these two aspects. The opening scene is full of artistic inspiration and it doesn't end until the credits have finished rolling.
The first challenge will be set forth on Wednesday. Look forward to seeing you there!
Also, if you are of the design team mind and would enjoy being part of the design team as a guest designer...don't be afraid to speak up and let Bree know!
Prizes will be awarded each challenge to a winner chosen by the team. Prizes are sponsored by Shop Crop Suey and other companies will be sponsoring the prizes in the future.

My Rainbow's End

This album has been swirling around in my head for a long, long time! What better title for a book than, "My Rainbow's End"? For you see, I am at a place in my life where I feel I have found the end of a rainbow and it is true...there is gold at the rainbow's end.
Winning Bree's "O'er the Rainbow" premier kit from Shop Crop Suey, I knew my idea would finally come to fruition!
{I know my mother is going to leave a comment like..."What no picture of your mother at the end of your rainbow???" Love you mother! If I put everything in this album...it would be a mile wide! Just know without my parents and Mike's parents...we would be nothing!}
I kept it simple because I didn't want it getting too fat, I only have 3/4" spines.

I used Scrabble letters I picked up at the flea circus this week for one dollar! The fibers on the spine are from a dear friend named Jingle who sent me a huge RAK of her unwanted fibers. Jingle, rest assured they are definitely going to good use!

Ok, here is my haircut....I did it. Yes, i cut my own hair. Don't ask me how I do it, but I have been doing it for over 14 years. Truthfully, I have had a professional cut 3 times as an adult. I hated every one of them! Another truth, it got a little shorter than I imagined it would be...but I love love love it! PS: I have no makeup on, so sorry if it scared you!

Thanks for looking and as always I read, appreciate and value all your comments. {Even if I do not get a chance to tell you personally!!!!!!}

Rock and Rollin'

I love the inspiration I find not only at All Moments Remembered, but also Shop Crop Suey! This relatively new kit club has come out of the starting gates heading full steam ahead with amazing paper and embellishments. The kits include one of a kind things as well as the hottest, newest products on the market right this instant!!!
I was lucky enough to work hard enough to drum up lots of traffic through the Shop Crop Suey blog to win the premier kit! I was so stinking excited to get my hands on the products that Bree and Camille put together. I assure you when I opened the kit box I almost fainted. Okay....maybe not fainted but surely, I nearly peed my pants! I couldn't wait to get a hold of the "stuff" and start creating!
I want to show you first and foremost a project that was inspired by Bree herself. She created a record wall hanging. I thought of creating these records into picture frames for each one of my children. It worked out perfect as I have three precious children! Ok, some days they are not so "precious"!!!!! But I love them, nonetheless!
I used records I had gotten at goodwill, Bree's Kit was used along with some cardstock. The thickers were from Camille's kit. I love love how this turned out! I attached the clips with brads. The pictures are held by the clips so I can keep the pictures current! I need one more clip to complete the project so Jacob can be included!

Here is the picture that is going on the third record! Just have to wait til I get the third clip!

Thanks for looking and your comments!
