Challenge...accomplished!

I have been feeling much better after a terrible bout of Mastitis again. Anyone ever has a question about it,I am your resident pro! Unfortunately!
Since feeling better I have really been itching to create again!

This layout was inspired over at All Moments Remebered by the DT Lead designer Heather! She posed a challenge last week and this week. Last weeks challenge was layering and this weeks challenge was girl paper on a boy layout!
This challenge came at a perfect time as just yesterday I was out for lunch with my dear friend. Upon entering Panara Bread Company, a woman began to gush over my baby. She said, "Oh my goodness, she is absolutely beautiful! What's her name?" I said Jay. She responded, "Oh my goodness, he is so beautiful anyone would mistake him for a girl!"
I decided to go ahead and layer and use the girl paper!

This is Me ATC

This is me...an ATC I made using one of my all time favorite photos and my current Avatar. I was in the Grand Canyon, shuttled there by helicopter. It was amazing!
This ATC is made of a playing card base. I painted it with Memory Makers "lagoon", and then I placed bubble wrap on that for texture. I then got out the Memory makers "razzleberry" paint and used the bubble wrap to paint that on!
After it dried, I stamped some words with Stazon on that describe me. I used some plastic clear netting that fell off of a construction truck as it rambled through the neighborhood. Jacob went and got it out of the neighbor's yard! This is the kind of stuff that ends up in the waterways causing havoc with wildlife! Needless to say, it is getting a second life with me!
I then used pop dots to adhere a very small pic of me.

U Right Now

I have been wanting to create a mini album using 3.5 inch floppy discs! I was super excited to make this album using my Bind It All. Lo and behold, they were too fat and so I had to use my Crop a Dile instead. I did however, use the bind it all to attach the pages together! I loved that!
I couldn't decide what topic to use for this mini album, and then I thought I would do it about my daughter...right now! She picked out thisline of papers last time we were at the scrapbook shop. I would say she has good taste in color combinations!
As always, you can click on the pictures to make them large.

I chalked the sides below to soften the disc look on the edges.
My dear friend scrappin{jewlz} over at All Moments Remembered message boards sent me this RAK of metal goodness. {Thanks bunches {jewlz} I love it!} We have an ongoing RAK over on the message boards. I took this offer of Julie's and offered up Tim Holtz Alcohol Ink and the Tropical Storm Fay. Needless to say the ink flew out of the house!.....Perhaps on the storm! LOL

Tipping Over!

All Moments Remembered was having a challenge to step out of your comfort zone. This particular challenge was all about white space. It was hosted by Heather the head of the design team. White space is something I don't necessarily have an eye for...hopefully this is kind of it???
Guess what, even if it is not...I love it! This picture captures this moment in time of Baby Jay to a tee. He was a bundle of scrumptious jello! He sort of just tipped over and then looked up at me with his adoring eyes as if to say,"help me Mama!" I of course did...but not before capturing this photo!

PP: Vita Bella
Flourishes: Prima Say it with Crystals
Lettering: Dymo label maker and thread hand stitched
Fiber ribbon, ivy, silk flower all from around my home

Dymo Tutorial

This is a great way to use your Dymo Label Maker to its maximum potential! How many times have you wanted to add this type of journaling to your layout only to be disappointed in your color choices.

Well, not a problem any longer! I have created this tutorial to help make this an easy can do for you!
First, you will need to measure the dymo tape and then cut any strip of white core paper to that same size! Grab your Dymo label maker and feed the paper into the label maker.
Leave the back end open as you work so as to not bend up your paper.
Write out whatever you want and then cut the paper using the scissors button.
Grab your Around the Block Mini Antiquing Tool Kit and carefully sand off the top layer of PP.
Then attach to your page with your favorite adhesive! It really is very easy!

Here is what the tool kit looks like!

Enjoy and happy scrapping!
